DMV: Definition of Joint or Common Ownership

Definition of Joint Ownership

A Certificate of Title issued to two or more owners characterizes joint ownership of a motor vehicle. Any such person listed on the title may transfer ownership of the vehicle. Both owners are required to sign the original Application for Registration and Certificate of Title (form H-13).  However, only one signature is required to change ownership of the vehicle.
